Latest news
Courts 3 and 4 have
recently been resurfaced, which now gives us 5 first class
outside courts, as well as the 3 indoors. In the longer
term, as membership continues to grow, we will seek to build
more courts as well as a practice wall
Head Coach Steve Bauer
and his team of Julie Johnson, Eslam Shaaban, and Adam
Newton have been doing a fantastic job. Most of the above
increase in membership has been in the juniors, which is
directly down to the new ideas, enthusiasm and sheer hard
work of the coaching team. They continue to go into local
schools, hold talent ID days, build both the
puddleducks and the
mini-tennis base, coach the junior performance squad and
other juniors, and offer adult coaching, both group and
individual. Recent new initiatives have been Cardio Tennis
and Easy Tennis. I also wish to mention the Egyptian tennis
holiday, which Eslam arranged and was terrific fun. There is
another one coming up in October. If you are interested in
having coaching, contact Steve Bauer on 01386 561903. I
thank all the coaching team for their efforts.
The Pershore Tennis
Centre teams have been performing really well throughout the
winter, winning promotions and leagues. Special thanks go to
our overall captains Chris Gooderham and Marie-Claire
Szczepanik for organizing everything so well, and to their
various team captains and teams for getting the results on
court. For more details, see the team reports.
